If I am moving out of my parents house (I am 18) without their permission, are my clothes/shoes considered gifts that I can therefore legally remove from the house?

No. Go naked.

These are your posessions, of course you can take your clothes and shoes. If your relationship is strained, then you may not just enter their house without their express permission. So, set a time with them for you to pick up your stuff.

You are 18 you do not need their permission to move out. As for your clothes etc. They are your personal property so you are legally entitled to them Your parents can not stop you from taking them with you.

You can legally move out, and don't need their permission. Your clothes are your possessions, and you can take them with you.

And I agree, get out of there fast. If they're the kind of people who would keep your clothes, they're not the kind of people you want to live with anymore.

Seriously, if your parents won't give you your clothes, make it a point to undress in front of them and walk out the front door naked. That should put some sense into them.

It would be something you'd have to dispute in court. It can obviously go either way (in your favor or not.)

1. They were personal possesions which are sentimental to you for they were recieved as gifts.
or
2. You did not pay for them, therefore, they are not yours.

Also, it depends... did you recieve some from friends? Being they probably wouldn't dispute it with you, those are yours legally.

Absolutely. If they were purchased for you, then they are your property (especially since it's clothes). Larger things, like cars or computers may be more tricky, but in general, you may take all of your belongings.

Of course you can.

Unless they were given to you and they said, "By the way, these are only yours while you live under our roof" which is possible but a trifle unlikely I'd have thought.

Haven't you ever had a job and paid for your own things? Not even your clothes?

Wow, what did you do to piss them off?
