Republicans don't hate freedom of speech, what they don't like is the miss-truths that are in SOME of that speech.
And as for American children dying in IRAQ (assuming you mean military personnel) The powers that were in place before the war killed far more people. War is terrible, but sometime doing what is right has a terrible cost.

Freedom of speech shows their arguments for what they are. They rush into war as a first response because they live their lives in constant fear. They subscribe to the doctrine that humans are inherently evil and it scares them to death. We could easily defend this country without going on offense but they seem to have a death wish for all of us.
