Too soon for a change in public opinion. People need to digest this latest information and then react to it.

I predict his numbers will go up.

I am part of his 33% and I have never wavered on that.
I don't pay attention to opinion polls because they always seem to ask the question to skew in favor of the answer they want.

Perhaps you could rephrase the question like this: "Why did George W. Bush's strong disapproval rating remain at 44% (according to Rasmussen) during this last foiled terror plot? Why didn't it catapault up 20 points or so like it should have?"

I suppose one answer could be: Well hey, he was on vacation, give the guy a break!

That's a good question. It may be too early for the "terrorism bounce" that he usually gets, or it may be because the plots were against air passengers flying from Europe, rather than here in the U.S.

I suspect that we'll hear quite a bit more in the next few weeks leading up to the elections, as the Republicans have really become pretty much a "one-trick pony" in their reliance on terror. I don't think that they can win elections anymore except with appeals to the cowardice of that portion of the American population. I'm terribly disappointed in Americans when I see it work as well as it has recently.

Just wait and see. If there are couple of more terror plots foiled and terrorists loose face his ratings will get back to where they were before start of Iraq war. Public memory is very short and they react only to immediate events.

I think this latest foiled terror plot demonstrates that Britian is doing its job and gives no further creditability to the already questioned Bush administration.

Because he didn't have anything to do with it. The British intelligence agency foiled the terror plot.

Geezze.........are you trying to blame this terrorist plot on
George W. Bush? I can't believe you people who don't
like him have blamed every bad thing that has happened
in the last 5 years on him. It's plain crazyness on your part.
We should be greatful for those who tracked down this plot
or we would have had a dozen jets explode over the
United States with hundreds of innocent people blown out
of the sky. It would have been worse than 9/11. I wish you
LIberals would get your head out of the sand and see what
terrorists are trying to do to others they hate. You also seem
to have that same hate within yourself, so you need help or
need to get on our (USA) side and quit helping the enemies>
