I don't think it's possible given the circumstances. While I remained friends with Hubby #1 (no abuse suffered and separated amicably), hubby #2 was different. Suffered through the verbal and physical abuse. Once those feelings of betrayal, lack of trust, and especially humiliation exist... you've gotta sever the ties that bind. People like that don't want friends, they want people they can control.

Yes, its possible to be friends with your ex. I'm friends with two of mine. In one case there was betrayal as you call it, and in another just a case of a change of thinking.

I AM NOT FRIENDS WITH MY EX, BUT FOR THE SAKE OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WE ARE CIVIL AT GET TOGETHER. MY MIDDLE DAUGHTER HAS 2 KIDS FROM A PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIP AND IS NOW MARRIED, SHE AND THE KIDS DAD GET ALONG GREAT FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR CHILDREN. IT IS ONE BIG FAMILY GET TOGETHER WITH ALL THE EXS AND THE EX-IN-LAWS AND EVERYONES NEW PARTNERS. WE HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL. MATURITY IS THE KEY!!!!!
