Depends on how you are busting your butt? Cause if your busting your butt looking around or polishing your nails or just not lifting or writing or answering any phones then your boss deserves calling you out but if you completely are doing something then they have no right.

Approach him, when he's calm and not riding you. Ask him what part of your job he feels you are not performing your duties.
If this fails. Run to him and inform him of every tasks you've completed. Or keep a tally of your work and next time he says you need to do more. Show him the list and ask him what he'd like you to add to it.
I had a job where I hardly saw my boss. Because I had to run around so much. They couldn't see the work that i had done. He caught me on one of my few breaks and said something. I took a deep breathe like Jim Carrey does in. "Pet detective and gave him a list of everything I had done in four hours, inhaled and gave him a verbal list of everything I had to do for the next four hours. He never bothered me again.

Maybe he likes to see that butt "busting". If this is the case, don't wear tight jeans. Come to work in long dress. :)

There's an old saying that goes,"If you want to get something done quickly, give it to a busy person."
Your boss is actually complimenting you by climbing your azz.
