Could be - mine was born back to back - painful - opt for an epidural as soon as!! Felt like someone headbutting the base of my spine! Good luck if it is labour - it'll all be worth it in a few hours when they arrive ;o)

Don't panic or worry because a nagging, painful bachache is a classic sign of impending labor. It's highly possible that you'll be feeling some contractions soon. Real ones!

Having a bachache doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a hard "back labor" but it's possible so make sure you've brought along some comfort measures for this in your hospital bag. I've got a heating pad in mine, and my husband is getting really good at applying counter pressure to the small of my back when it gets intense!

Remember, if contractions have NOT started you are not in active labor so there's no need to rush off to the hospital or birthing center. They will probably just send you home and you will have made a trip for nothing while enduring that uncomfortable backache. Now is the time to rest, try some comfort measures for your back, and then just see what the doc says. Have you tried sitting on the potty and leaning forward a little to stretch your back gently? Or kneeling in front of a chair and putting your head down on the chair as you stretch your back and take some pressure off?

I'm excited for you - maybe you'll be meeting your baby real soon!

Doctor will call soon, and if not, then call again and tell them you are in labor and want to go to the hospital. That'll get them moving, and they will call ahead and the hospital will be expecting you. Sounds like back labor, so start to time them and keep walking, because that will help (even if you need someone to MAKE you move). By staying in one position, it will lengthen the labor and make the pain worse. Good luck!

Sounds like labor to me. Uterus is rock hard = contraction. Back hurts = true labor instead or Braxton-Hicks contractions.

Good Luck...and a labor tip: the more you relax thru the pain the faster it will go. Contractions are good because every one means that your cervix is opening more and your baby is closer to coming out.

I would say you are probably in the beginning stages of labor. I have done this 4 times and this really sounds like back labor..when you are feeling the rock sensation..that is more than likely a contraction. I would try and time how far apart those are.

It does sound like back labor. Just wait at home to see if it becomes more regular. When you know for sure that your are contracting and in labor then go to the hospital, or if your water breaks then go too. Good luck and Congrats!!!

sounds like back labor, the down the arms pain concerns me,that sounds like a nerve problem but i would check for sure. get to hospital or doctor if it gets worse call and tell him to meet you there or that you are going and go ,no i think i would go ,because with all your other symtomsyou need to get it checked before it get to bad.
