If you could pick any country to be the sole superpower, which would it be?

because the question is 'sole superpower'. Note that all those who favour USA take it for granted that the first thing a superpower does is start a war.

I suggested Antartica PRECISELY because it has no army, no navy mo air-force, no government and because war is banned there.

I would also pick it as the place to send the gobshite who dissed my tongue-in-cheek suggestion with a negative rating.

Probably a [humourless] disaffected Republican of the elephantine type who can't figure out the hieroglyphics below and couldn't even pronounce the word if [his] life depended on it.

In fact everybody the sad bastard dissed EVERY SINGLE ANSWER that did not choose the good ole U S of A. I've just gone down to the end. Since you have to be level 2 and Anerican to do the dirt like that shall we have a little witch-hunt in here just for the sake of international relations?

It would be the Netherlands.

They are superior in thought pattern to most of the world. They remain nuetral, mind thier own buisiness, and have legalized marijuana. The arts florish over there, not to mention the fact that racism, and predjudice are virtually non-existent there.

I am an American, but the Dutch have it down.

Reality though, China is the only country in the world who has the man-power and the military prowess to conquer and control the world. No country, not even us in the United States could stand a half *** chance against China.

In my ideal world, ultimate power would be held by a United Nations, although a UN reorganised to be fairer than at present. The UN and its agencies would only deal with things like global warming that have to be addressed at world level: things that could be governed more locally would be governed more locally.

Of course, in the real world, we have to start from who actually has power now. Thank goodness it is not the successors of Hitler or Stalin.
