I have a 2002 Corvette and the A/C stays warm in the vehicle, but the compressor runs normally. I believe the problem to be in the control assy or the actuators but do not really want to rip the dash apart to diagnose if I don't have to. Please Help?

Sounds to me its likely to need a shot of freon. However some insurance companies offer recall info. I know drive insurance does. "progressive "

For starters, tearing up the dash without knowing exactly what to look for is not a wise idea, and might cause more problems than it solves. If the compressor is running when it's supposed to, that infers to me that the A/C control assembly should likely be ok. The main likely culprits here are either a) a simple case of needing a freon recharge (easily checked at many different places, or a dealer), or b) perhaps a loose, disconnected or damaged vacuum line that's disabling the actuator/diverter that diverts the cold air through the vents. I'd run the lines from the compressor on back to check for cuts, cracks, or something that's come loose. If you still can't figure it out, I'd go ahead and let a good A/C tech or the dealer look at it. If you still have warranty coverage left then this would be covered at the dealer anyway.

Hope this helped.

I own a repair shop,,and i have had 2 of the vette,s in here for the same problem,,it is the control unit,i have had to replace them,,because they simply stop working,,and there is no recall on them either,,but i think there needs to be one,,the unit its self is pretty expensive,,and labor isn't that bad,,i think the whole job,,parts and labor was like 250,,maybe less,,you can install it your self,,if a dealer does it i think they have the labor set on this job at 250 bucks,,and it only takes a little while to do it,,i have been at this for 35 yrs,,i hope this helps,,good luck with it.

i might circulate with what izzie is asserting as you need to be getting circulate there in case you're becoming it in the different places... have you ever had any mechanic or radio artwork finished these days? some thing located interior the vent might reason matters, or if the rotary knob is broken on the facet of the vents yet different than which you need to be getting circulate
