Ken Mehlman would make a great Taliban leader. He's about as American as Stalin, and as head of the party that is utterly dependent on terrorism, this statement coming from his mouth is the pinnacle of hypocrisy.

The statement doesn't surprise me with every liberal demanding that we pull out of Iraq now. You may not like the war, but we cannot just abandon Iraq. Right or wrong on justification for the the war the country has to be stabilized. There is no question that terrorists are active in Iraq at this time. I don't agree with the statement, I find it divisive, but before Democrats start pointing the crazy intolerant finger at Ken Melman they need to rein in their own rabid dog. Or have you folks forgotten Howard dean? You know the guy who redefines wacko politics on a daily basis with his statements.

No, but it's a fearmongering tactic. Democrats do that sort of thing all the time, only with social programs, telling the appropriate constituency that Republicans will take away their Social Security, welfare, school lunches, health care, etc.
