It depends on how quick you are. My son's best friend was a linebacker and he was about 140. He was fast and was able to break through the O line. Wide receiver or tight end are good positions for tall, thin players. You just have to be fast and be able to snag a ball if it comes in your general vacinity. It's not up to you what position you play...your coaches will decide based on your skills and where they need players.

Are there positions in American football? You Yanks just seem to run off with the ball like a scared rabbit that the soccer playing world thinks all you guys need to do is run and avoid tackles on the way!

IF, that's a big IF, If you're stong enuff and quick enuff, DB is the ticket for you.....work on your hand eye coordination to be a good pass deflector, interceptor....your body won't absorb too much punishment...stay away from contact till you've built your muscle reflexes.

I never have played foot ball at any level but just for fun. At 6'4" and at 260 pounds I was told I would've made a good tight end. Just let your coaches put you where ever at and just give it your best shot.

Kicker, QB, WR and CB are probably your best options. If you are more physical you could look at FS.
