After being with someone for over 3 years and living together and catching him in the bed you both shared with another girl, what are the steps to recovery? How can you be sure this girl is doing well? And is it a big deal? Is this something that can be very traumatic to happen to someone?

I'm going through a similar situation. I'm the girl and I've decided to forgive him and try to rebuild our trust.
I'm scared and I don't know where to start, I think this is something you have to deal with one day at a time. wounds won't get better fast.
As a man and a cheater, you should let her know in several ways how grateful you are that she's given you a second chance. Let her know she's not wrong, make her feel loved and, as a show of respect, don't screw everything up again; but if you do, show some decency and confess, and you'll get what you deserve (I'll walk away)

You have to walk away. Cold turkey. It won't be easy but there is someone out there for you who won't hurt you in such a dispicable manner.. Good Luck

Leave and yes it is a very big deal. If they did it one time they will do it again. Be strong if they cheat you can do better.
