If they had to risk their own lives rather than other peoples, wouldn't they think twice about starting wars for personal gain or resources?

Ha ! You bet they should. It would hardly be a first; kings used to lead their troops in battle.
If political leaders had to be anywhere near the battlefield, somehow we'd get to see worldwide peace within a week ! lol !

It wud be honourable to see a politician support his own decisions of starting a war by going out to battle!!...BUT then again, with the $$$$ flowing into their bank accounts while they sit on their barts i doubt any of them wud wana trade that for the front-line in a war torn country!
