would then the crime rate drop instead of blaming guns for crime, when will they stop trying to take away the freedoms, the right to bare arms,if they would work to solve the issues instead giving handouts out, maybe they could sleep better at night, knowing people are to tired to get out and commit crimes

You talk about taking away freedoms, but that is exactly what you are suggesting with this mandated 40 hour work week. I don't work 40 hours a week and I don't own a gun and have never been convicted of a crime. Your ideal society sounds a bit like communitst Russia.

There is less violence when people work and have pride in their community.
I live in a suburb where everyone I know works. I would let my kids walk down our streets at night (always in a group - I am not naive) but I would not let them even go near the central city in the daytime in the urban area we live near.
Crime rates would drop if everyone worked. I am so tired by 10 PM that I never even think of robbing a Seven Eleven.

I think that would be a good start but it will never work. The people are already saying there ain't no jobs.I think you would run out of jobs long before everybody got one.

Nice concept. What would be the punishment for those who didn't work? Jail time? I imagine our jails would be more overrun than they already are.

With the way our society is structured, there's no way to enforce such a mandate.
