I'm sure there is resentment, but if you have a true love of the art, getting the biggest role in a movie or play or whatever it is shouldn't really matter. The only thing that comes along with those roles is fame, and that isn't waht theatre is all about. Movies is another story, but for the most part, an actor who gets jealous or resents a person for getting a role (and openly complains about it a lot) is a diva who wants the limelight...a little resentment is to be expected since you have to watch them destroy your art with their lack of talent but hey, life goes on.

I took Drama 1 last year (freshman yr highschool) and watching the ppl in advanced speech, the next lvl up that u have to audition for, i noticed that it really takes a different kind of person to truly love acting and theatre. Everything they do, they do with the attitude they have when watching or doing a performance. In other words, alot of them are very judgemental and sometimes even pushy. Not saying that all actors are like this, just the ones who think that they know more than other ppl around them. Because of this, they tend to judge performers like rappers and singers on a dramatical scale rather than let them be who they really are.

Yep, I'm sure they do.

I'm a musician, and I resent all the recent singer/rappers who have absolutely no musical ability.

But the c--p wouldn't exist if there weren't a huge market of bored lazy people who don't know the difference and don't care...

Nope; why should I? If/when they appear onstage or in films/TV, the truth will quickly emerge. Either they can do the job -- and many can -- or they can't.
