He's a 41 year old man, he is 5"10 and weighs 305 lbs. THe whites of eyes are yellow, his feet and ankles are swollen and discolored. He can drink a quart of vodka and at least a 12 pack of beer on saturday then do it again on sunday. During the week he lower it by having a pint of vodka and a 6 pack of beer. How severe is the damage he is doing to himself? What should I expect next?

I think he is about done. The yellow indicates severe liver damage which is fatal. The swollen limbs indicate bad circulation (and the 305 pounds isn't doing his heart much good either). He is probably malnourished from skipping solid food while on his liquid diet. I am afraid he is past the point at which stopping drinking would restore his health.

I think you should expect next for him to either stumble in front of a bus in a drunken stupor or expect to have the police show up at your door to tell you he was found passed out and frozen to death on a winter street.

I hate to be grim but he seems to have passed the point of no return on his self abuse. I feel sorry for you and him.
