My boyfriends sister and two children are staying with us. Her 12 year old daughter still sucks her thumb-all the time. How can I talk to her mom-who is very protective-about her stopping this. I am only worried that she is starting school and soon and I do not want her to be made fun of.

some kids have habits, but if u dont want her to get made fun of u try talking to her, tell her the truth whats kids will do mabey that will help

If the mom isn't going to listen, try and talk to the child. It sounds like the situation might be a little unstable? If so, it may be a comfort sort of thing for her. If that is the case, you need to be a little more careful about what you say - don't make it out to be something bad.
