I have an opportunity to sell my art to a t_shirt manufacturer. I'd like to receive a royalty per shirt sold, but I was told that a one lump sum might be a better arrangement. If anyone knows business stuff like this please respond.

You should look into a PoD site (print on demand). That way you can keep your designs and sell them.

A great starter site is CafePress. The free shop is really free and they offer many items. They also have a fantastic forum so that other shopkeepers can answer questions you might have.

There are many artists on their selling their own stuff. But artists dont always make good sellers. If you decide that is true for you also then you can sell your designs to other people in the Cafepress forum, or create a partnership with one. Some people there do great shops and great marketing but their designs could use alot of help. :)

Keep me in mind. I come up with witty one-liners pretty well but plain text on a shirt doesnt do so well. There are times I can really use an image to go with a one-liner.
