Flintstone Vitamins worked for me. The prenatal vitamins are like horse pills and they made me gag, I couldn't even swallow them. Anyway, my doctor said the flintstone vitamins have the same stuff in them as prenatal vitamins. I did my research, and he was right. The flintstone vitamins actually have more stuff in them that is good for you. And they don't make you gag.

With my first 3 kids I took vitamins just before bed because I wouldn't throw up when I was lying down. My doctor gave me vitamins that were chewable and tasted sweet. I forget what they were called, but they were a lot easier to get down than horse pills!
With baby #4 my doctor prescribed Zofran, which is traditionally an anti-nausea prescription for chemo patients but which has been approved for morning sickness now. I had tried several things with my first 3 kids, and this is the only thing that worked. I was still nauseous, but not actually throwing up.
Good luck!

I would let your OB know what's going on. Sometimes they can offer you a different prenatal vitamin to try (every woman has different reactions to prenatal vitamins). They may offer you a less potent vitamin, but just as effective. You should also try over the counter vitamins...I'm taking those right now, and I seem to be doing pretty good. Good luck to you with your pregnancy!

This happened to me. My doctor switched my brand of prenatal pills and had no problems after that. Take them right before you go to bed too. Congrats, and good luck with this!

Usually by the time you throw up, the vitamin is already absorbed. Did you ever try taking them at night before bed? This nausea will pass very soon. Also, do you take them on an empty stomach?? Try with food. If you continue with nausea, call your obgyn and maybe they can give you something. Hope you feel better soon!

If you are not eating before you take them try to eat a small snack before you take them. If you are eating before you take them then try to take them before you go to bed, with a glass of milk or warm herbal tea. You may need to have your doctor change your prenatals, but you may just have to change how or when you take them.I hope this helps.

Make sure you eat a good breakfast before you take the pills and a full glass of water. If nothing else call your OB

Have a little bed time snack and take them before you go to bed. That's the only way that I could keep them down.

The same thing happened to me. My doctor suggested that instead of taking them first thing in the morning, take them at night before you go to bed. At lease, that way, if you get sick, then you will be home.
