I never got over mine, either. It's been over a year and a half, and I'm still madly in love with him. We were together for a year.
But to help, my brother got me a kitten that I fell in love with, and all the feelings I wanted to give to him, I gave to her instead... Now she's like a daughter to me! I love her to death, and she's made me so happy, just always being there and watching her grow. But in a way, I have a lot more fun doing and enjoying things instead of focusing all my time on my true love. I never really would have discovered so many other things I enjoy doing if he hadn't ditched me :D I do enjoy getting myself pretty and watching all the guys look at me, though :D It's sort of like, the rebound guy thing--you focus on all the other guys that think you're gorgeous. You see some cute ones! And really, if you're as brokenhearted as I was/am, make sure to talk to your friends about everything, because they'll do whatever it takes to help make you feel better. I really wouldn't have made it this long without my best friends. If you need them, let them know. My best friend told me to call ANY TIME, even if it's 3 AM and I just need someone to talk to.
My brother cheated on his ex, and I still talk with her a lot, and she went through the exact same thing as me. But she found a really great guy, and she's ecstatic now. Start dating around and try not to think about him. You'll find someone you really enjoy who helps to fill that emptiness he left.

Honey, time heals all wounds, sometimes it tales a long time, but you will be OK. I know this is a hard thing to believe when you are hurting so much.
In the mean time, find something to occupy your time and your mind (an educational class, exercise class, art classes) This will keep your mind off him so much of the time.
Whatever you do, don't just lay around thinking of him. He is moving on and you should do the same.

You will never get over true love, but you will learn to move on and continue your life without him. He will always be in your heart and you will think about him from time to time.
Just remember that he is choosing to be without you right now. Since he can just walk away from you, he doesn't deserve your time or your thoughts. He still has a hold on you and it makes you powerless to let him.
I know it is hard to know that the "perfect man for you" is out there choosing to be without you. Now you can choose to live your life for you. Take care of yourself.

it isn't true love is it? if he or she breaks up with you for no reason. true love don't break up, it should last a life time, you just haven't found the right person.

if he broke up with you "for no reason" then he was none of those things. don't romanticize him. move on. focus on positive aspects of your life and you will meet someone who just might be all of those things.
