If you are driving with little oil in your engine, then you have already done damage to it. If you don't have the exact amount of oil in your engine it will blow and you'll be sitting on the side of the road. An engine can go from $2,500-$9,000 according what size and make it is. Now quit reading this and go put some oil in your engine.

Define 'little oil'? If it is a quart low no it will not hurt it but if it is driven with less oil than that then all bets are off. If you have had a warning sign such as a low oil pressure or low oil level warning then you had better either fill it up or find out why the oil pressure is low if that is the case or you will almost certainly damage the engine very quickly.

yep it sure can, oil protects your engine from grinding itself into a pile of rubble. Now I have seen engine with NO oil in it go as far as a 1/2 mile racing on a track, of course it's damaging the engine and you have no idea how bad until it's taken apart.. it all depends upon how low you were and if the oil pressure was way down.... a engine will survive if the oil pressure was not reduced but if it was more than likely it's days are numbered.

It depends, how little oil and how far did you drive.
If the car was driven for some time with the " low oil" warning light on the dash, especially with high rpms, some serious damage is likely to have been done.
If the oil is just low on the dipstick, if the "low oil" warning light never came on, if you didn't drive for too long, then it's very possible that no, or very little damage have been done.

I'm surprised your engine hasn't seized up yet....The oil flushes around the engine, coating and lubricating as it goes....if there's no oil there's no lubrication so there for the metal parts of the engine will eventually come to a grinding halt.
So the answer to your question is PUT OIL INTO YOUR ENGINE.
I don't want to be behind you on the road when your engine seizes.

Yes. Oil is the life blood of a car a very important! Regular oil changes can extent the life of you car dramatically. I'm a girl and don't get into the mechanical stuff. This has been drilled into my head by every gearhead and mechanic I've ever known.

If you keep going with no oil it'll seize and then it's a full engine refit job.
If it's still running put some oil in now. I drove my first company car until there was a blob of oil in it but got a way with it.

Yes, metal rubbing on metal will cause the moving parts of the engine to effectively weld themselves together. replacement engines arent cheap. Get some oil in quick

Yes It does.
Oil is used to stop friction of the moving parts in your engine,
No oil more friction,
Friction = Heat and wear, causing a lot of damage.
It would be best to top up your oil as soon as posible and remember to check how much you have put in by looking at the dip stick.

Oil Pressure is the key indicator - if pressure is maintained at the normal value then things are OK.
If pressure is lost because of insufficient supply (level) then problems with bearings etc. will occur either immediately or sometime in the future.
Note - having too much oil in the sump can also lead to problems as it will cause "churning".
