Can anyone tell me why a boxing ring is square???

I cannot. But can you tell me why a round pizza comes in a square box?

Because it is too difficult to make circular ropes.
The ring could be made triangular, but that would give us not enough space.
Finally, if you made it octagonal (or even more angles), then there would be to many poles, and poles hurt if you are hit against them (sorry if my English isn't perfect, perhaps I shouldn't have boxed so much :-)

It was once round and not square but somebody changed it. I have no idea why though....lol
