Let's view it this way. Assume you have a rod AB, whose length is 80; another rod CD, whose length is 40.

Now, overlay CD on top of AB, let A and C to coincide. You get DB = 40.

Keep point A fixed. Move D slightly away (in a circle), you get a triangle. Assume jou just moved so little, so little, then DB will be still very very close to 40.

As you move D in one direction more and more, BD increases. It stop increasing until AD and AB are again in the same line, but point to opposite direction. Then, BD=120. Right before you hit angle 180, you had a triangle. So the mas is 120.

In fact, the smallest side if 40, because we know AB = 40. The largest side is very, very close to 120, but can never be 120, because otherwise you have a line, not a triangle.

Angle N would be ((180-(80+40))=120, the smallest side would be opposite the smallest angle ie S and the largest side would be opposite greatest angle ie N

S = 40
N = 60
L = 80
The side opposite to the greatest angle is the greatest side. Hence SN is the greatest side.
The side opposite to the smallest angle is the smallest side.
Hence LN is the smallest side.

If L=40 and S=80,
N+ 40 + 80= 180
N + 120 = 180
N= 180 -120
N=60
SN is longest side as longest side is always opposite greatest angle
LN is smallest side as smallest side is always opposite smallest angle!
Simple!

By the theorem
"Side opposite to greater side is greater"
L=80,S=40, N=60 as " sum of all angles of triangle is 180"
L>N>S
side SN > Side LS > Side LN

so side SN is the greatest side and side LN is the shortest side

side opposite angle 40 is the shortest and side opposite angle 80 is the greatest

The side opposite the largest angle will be largest side, so that would be the side oppositve angle L.

The smallest side is the side opposite angle S.

The third side is opposite angle N = 60; it is neither the largest nor the smallest side.

it is all simple if we taks n as third angle then its 60 as l+s+n=180.therefore side opp to greatest angle is greatest side so sn is greatest side.and ls is smallest
