While what you may have been smelling seemed like the scent of cat urine, it could have been something entirely different. Pu*sy urine does have a strong ammonia odor. I have washed a load of clothes and didn't put them in the dryer for a day. The clothes "soured" in the washer. The dryer and bounce sheet did NOT cure the odor. I was running late for work the next day so I just grabbed whatever came out of the dryer. It was foul...all day I smelled of the pu*sy urine. Even re-washing the load did not take the odor out. I had to wash them a 3rd time with some bleach and Lysol mixed in. It finally took away the odor and I was able to return to work and not hide in the bathroom all day.

To be serious, there is perfume that smells almost exactly like cat urine. It is not too cheap, by the way

It could be that he was around where meth was being cooked. When meth is cooked. the odor is a strong cat urine smell.

Last night, as he was sleeping, his cat (if he has one) crept into his bedroom and pissed in his ear and he never noticed!
