What do you expect from yourself?
I would expect a 26 year old to be pretty indedendent, out of college & in a fairly decent job, or working her way up to that decent job. Marraige is an option, but since lots of marraiges fail, what do you have to fall back on? Get that backup quickly before you start to have kids. If you find someone you can be friends with for your whole life, because that is what counts, then good for you. Don't just add to the baby mill before that...

Whatever you expect of yourself. Thats all. You are an adult. I'm 25, have a daughter and have already been divorced once. I am getting remarried next year and we own a house. So you tell me whats expected. Its different for everyone. I think you should act like a grown up but still have fun because your only young once.

that is an interesting question. I think those kind of expectations are really gone these days. I think the main thing today is that she is being responsible for herself and being independent.

My dad used to tell me "Your life is what you make it". I am still trying to unravel the knots left behind by that.
To H3LL with the expectations. The movie is Your Life. Now, are you going to be the star? or just an extra?

Oh, my dear...please do not allow other's expectations to rule Who You Are...you will disappoint them, but more importantly, you will disappoint yourself trying to please them...At 26, you should have enough experience & wisdom behind you to seek greater experiences for greater wisdom...on what subject, in what capacity--totally & wonderfully--Your Choice! Do what feels good to you, and your happiness with demonstrate the joy that doing what is best for you brings...others will see this...some will be happy for you & others will envy...no matter...just keep on truckin'! And Good Journey!

Whatever she wants for herself, at that moment in time and for her future. No one should ever let anyone spell out what he or she should be. One can listen, but in the end it is one's own choice.
What is right for one, does not have to be right for another.
