I'm sure it's a guy skunk; near the end of the movie, I'm sure he falls in love with a girl skunk (also, when they are grown up, he has a deeper voice).

Flower is a guy skunk. Remember him and the girl had babies, unless Disney was teaching about same couple adoptions back then, i'm positive that Flower was a male. Maybe a metrosexual male, but he was inded a male

Flower was a skunk. Hence the name is ironic, since a skunk does not usually smell like a "flower" when they have released their scent.

guy skunk...Bambi only calls him Flower because Thumper was teaching him the names of different things in the woods and he saw Flower and said "flower"...
