Who in school, past or present made a powerful impact on your life, and how?

I'd like to hear how your peers in school helped to impact your life in a psoitive way.

I went to school with a blind girl and she was a straight A student. I was so impressed that she could do so good with her studies and it encouraged me to make better grades. Funny thing that I still remember her after 50 years. Quite an impression.

Well, I'm in eighth grade and I still have a lot of school ahead of me, but I think I have an answer. In elementary, I had a friend who taught me how important it was to have confidence in myself and to believe in myself, even if the people around me are wanting me to fail. I used to tell her that was all lies, but when I moved last summer and was in a new town and school-I realized how right she was. I realized that life was all about changes-one minute I was in my old town, with all of the friends I had known ever since I could remember and then the next minute I was in a new school with people I didn't know. Now, I actually am glad that I have a friend who did that, 'cause she's helped me have faith in myself.

For seventh grade, I had the best art teacher ever. She was extremely nice and I loved being in her class. I met new people in her room and I was given more freedom in her art class. When I was in elementary the art teacher smoked and was really rude. She wanted our art to be just like her's and she went behind your back and changed your art if it wasn't like her's. But for 7th grade, my art teacher said that there was no certain rules I had to follow, just do the criteara (which was basically have good craftsmanship.) I always went to her for advice about friends and stuff. I was sad when she told the class she was going to quit teaching, but I will never forget her.
