Blind in my opinion. I think if you were blind you would almost not be able to interact in society. At least if you were deaf you could still coexist. People wouldn't immediately know that there was something wrong.

both are about equal to a point. The deaf have to read lips and that is hard with some people. beards mustaches....people look away... The blind when trained get around as good as most. but do not enjoy the beauty of the things we see and have to use other senses to compensate. Whats really hard is when A blind person starts to loose their hearing. It offsets their balance even more... I have a blind friend and a deaf step-brother and have seen both sides. If I had to pick It would be deaf they have come a long way with aids. Till they allow stem cell many will be denied sight. :-(

I am almost deaf, but with modern technology most deaf can hear. Being blind is the worst. I am now blind in one eye and may go blind in the other. There goes my computer and so many other things.

You definitely mean deaf than death lol.
Sometimes, there are things your eyes can't see but what your heart can see. The words and the sounds you hear can describe what surrounds you; but never seeing the beauty of colors and expressions.
While if you're deaf, you won't hear the pain of sufferings and the annoying arguments; but you won't hear and appreciate the beauty of music.
Therefore, I think being blind is better.

I hope that I will never have to choose, but I might prefer blindness to deafness. I don't know how I could deal with silence forever. Speech and music and ambient noise--sound is so important navigating socially if one is used to it. Of course, sight is as well. I don't know how I could handle it if I could never hear music or speech again. Just a personal thought.
I've seen my grandmother go deaf slowly over the years. Now she relies mostly on lip reading. I see how people think she's retarded or being rude. They really treat her badly sometimes because they don't realize that she is deaf. They just think she's very slow. I've seen waiters in restaurants just walk away from her when she asked them to repeat something slowly (so she could read their lips).

A blind person's hearing becomes enhanced and therefore can avoid many dangers. They can hear an approaching automobile in attempting to cross a street.
And I would hate to have no music in life. A blind person can/does create music.
A deaf person also may not have speech, unless it is lost later in life, and is subjected to all the dangers that can't be heard.
As hearing becomes enhanced, the human eye's limitations remain static. One must remember that our eyes cannot see beyond our normal peripheral vision, unlike animals of prey, which can see more of the rear, behind them.
In my opinion, hearing would be the greatest loss.

I would say neither. Some of my family members are deaf and they aren't complaining. They still watch t.v. with subtitles and talk on the phone via TTY. I have a friend who is blind, but he has a light perception of things. The only thing he cannot do is drive. In fact, he loves Jet_li movies, practicing Martial arts, and skydiving. They don't see their disabilities as problems.

The worst is being blind & deaf, like Helen Keller.
But individually, I think that blindness is worse than deafness. Not seeing, you would be in eternal darkness, which I think is worse than not hearing...

Being deaf would be worse.
I'd miss music much more than pictures or video. And so much in the media is designed for the eyes -- things like catchy labels, bright colors and sexy ads. Those things don't have much substance. They're designed just to manipulate. Sounds seem more honest.

If I had a choice I would choose to be deaf. You can learn to read people's lips and still communicate. I don't think I would like spending the rest of my life in the dark.
