Is the U.S too powerful?

The U.S. is the most powerful country economically, because capitalism works. Our good fortune has allowed us to do a lot of good in the world, as we are the most philanthropic country, giving far more to any and every cause you can name. Militarily, the U.S. is still strong, but we are not so strong that we are eager to take on Iraq, Iran, North Korea, etc. simultaneously, so no I'd say we aren't too powerful.

Military, I think yes, no question but economically speaking, the US is always experiencing a budget deficit although not noticed by many, I think it would be wise if they act on their deficit problem before things get worse.

well, SOMEBODY's gotta be top dog. if they aren't, all the countries jostle and vie to be at the top, or compete like in the arms race with the USSR. it causes a lot of tension. can you think of a country you'd rather hold the top position?

Not really. Their military is strong but it can't take on the world on its own. Its economy is good but economys are always fragile and America's is no exception.
