Go see a lawyer and get the courts to garnishee that bum's wages. He is legally obligated to support the child.
In Canada, contact your municipal (city or town) government to apply for Mother's Allowance so that you have funds to live on until the baby is old enough for you to get a job. Your doctor may be able to help you find the right person to contact. You are seeing a doctor, right? If not that is your first step!!
Get involved in some parenting classes and some activities with Moms and tots when the baby is born so that you can meet other Mothers and start building a support network.
Good luck honey!
Sending love, light and blessings to you and your baby!

Contact your local health unit, or social services and explain your situation. Some areas have special programs that can help you with this problem. In my area we have a program call "Birth Companions" You get matched up with a volunteer, that helps you with your pregnancy, is in the delivery room with you, and helps out after the baby is born. Also taking some prenatal class is a great way to learn about what the process is like and a great way to make friends. Don't forget about the friends you already have as well.

With food for you and the baby, even formula. its great. try. type local assistance office in your search engine and WIC as well and call the number for you local WIC. Also.... go to domestic relations in the court house, and get child support. there are lots of things you can do. I did the same things, it all helps so much. there is also a program called STEP. they help with child care. It can be free, and I know i only paid $5.00 a week. There are lots of things out there to help you, look into them. I was 15 when I did all this, and now im 23. so if i could do it that young i know you can. i cant imagin you being that young and pregant are you? Even if so...You ll get help,no problem. Good Luck to you.

Take the father to court to help with supporting the baby, as babies needs lots of formula, diapers clothes. Make the father responsible immediately. You can take the father to court for child support and not have to go through a lawyer and pay big bucks, I know I worked for a lawyer and after leaving that job I helped my friend fill out the papers for child support to take the the court without contacting a lawyer. Go to your town office and ask for papers to fill out for child support. My best to you and your baby. Also if you are not working, see if you can apply for state aide to help you till you have your baby and are able to go to work.

Look into WIC (Women, Infants & Children) as they can assist you with formula and food. If you don't have insurance, sign up for Medicaid. Contact your local Department of Family Services about possible daycare assistance.
When my daughter was born, her father wanted nothing to do with her either. I contacted every agency that I could for assistance until I could get back to work.

Do a DHS Search for your state. Apply for the assistance. Its base on number in household, income, and expences. You can apply for Food assistance and a cash benefit grant for the baby's supplies and stuff.
