When you pull them up the roots look tubular. They pop up everywhere. They have a series of tearshaped leaves growing on each stem. The look is similar a fern , but it grows very tall and the so called bark can become very thick if not destroyed.
It also leaves a strong odor on your hand when you pull it up.

Could be Sumac. They're a weed tree. Or maybe Black Walnut. The walnut trees have a smell.
