Yes... you can, so long as the tropical fish you have are community fish.

People may tell you that the water is too warm, but Goldfish adapt quite well.

Be warned though... goldfish are filthy fish... you'll be cleaning your tank FAR more often... I don't recommend them JUST for that reason. The warmer water and muck they create will possibly give you Algae problems.

The ratio of Tropical Fish per Gallon is typically one inch of fish per gallon of water... with Goldfish, it's about one inch per three gallons.

The idea that goldfish will adapt to warm water is true, however, it compromises their immune system eventually, so you are sentencing them to an early death. They do not fight with tropicals. Most of the time the goldfish are picked on and fins shredded by the fast moving tropicals.

Goldfish are COLDWATER FISH and need temps in the range of 60-65 degrees. Any good pet shop will tell you that.

Also, tropical fish is a catchall term for freshwater tropical fish. Anyone talking about saltwater fish calls them marine tropicals.

Tropicals need a water temp of 78 which is way too hot for goldfish. Also, goldfish will really foul up the water in a tropical tank, so no.

no because the tropical fish need a different water temperature than goldfish

I have a goldfish that's lived in my tropical tank for 3 years. True, more than one goldfish is nasty... but I bought mine when it was the size of a quarter, now it's the size of a tennis ball. my temperature is at 75, and it's roommates are, a blackmoore, 2 kohli loaches, a do-jo, 2 plecostamus', a beta, and a snail. No one has croaked in 3 years. Just be sure size of fish are compatible, or the smallest may become dinner.!!!

I had to keep a small goldfish with some tetras for a while, and it was fine. But I wouldn't do it long term... they can only thrive in the cooler temps that they were meant for.

Because of the amount of ammonia goldfish release into the tank it is best not to put them in with other community fish. I keep my in their own tank.
