Have at least $1 million. Their real estate is unbelievable. I would LOVE to live there, but can't afford it. Maybe someday.....

Average price of a big single family house (6000 sq feet , 6 + bedrooms_ on 1 acre land if it were to exist) in Midtown manhattan would over $200 million and $225 million in downtown. The house will be over $ 2 million rest is for the land. You could also expect to pay $3 million / year as real estate taxes. So it takes a lot of money to buy "a big house in Manhattan". In case you have so much cash buy yourself the 8 bed + 16 bath w/ private beach, beach house for $ 63 million 1/2 hr from manhattan. What a bargain.

u def. need more than a Million dollars nowadays. . .houses only about 30 mins away from Manhattan go for almost 1mil.
