The sad knowledge that our leaders are currently a bunch of greedy liars. And the loss of many lives.

What America gained was Iran as the dominant power of the Middle East, with no Iraq as a counterbalance. Iran, with a fundamentalist Islamic regime, unchecked by Iraq, which had a non-religious regime. Nice move. It will be interesting to see how things work out with a fundamentalist Islamic regime running the region.

I don't think we went into it looking for gain... loss of life is never a gain unless it's only the terrorists that lose their lives. Regardless of why Bush got us into it, we're now in it to save the Iraqi people.

How about rather than "gain" we use the word "sacrifice". We are sacrificing American lives to try and save us, the Iraqi people and hopefully the world from future terrorist attacks that take innocent civilian lives.

I guess we figure, since the rest of the Middle East doesn't give a crap about theirs or anyones elses life, we should!

They didn't gain anything.

The point was not for Americans to gain, but to keep the neighbors of Iraq safe from a demented dictator who claimed to have weapons of mass destruction and was going to use them.

He had previously tried to take over Kuwait, or doesn't anyone remember anything anymore?

Not much. If nothing else, we learned that we can't fight a war the way we did and hope to have a good outcome. If we can hold off long enough to have the iraqi army take over in our place, it will be good, but there is too much misinformation over there as to what our intentions are and were, so people fight back.

Good question, it's probably what Bush and Cie are asking themself now along with the American people . I think they gained nothing at all, and in fact they have lost a lot of credibility and respect worldwide.

Trillion dollar national debt and lost lives for no apparent reason but a greed for black gold.

Why don't you try bashing your own country for a change? I'm sure it would be a lot easier than making up your nonsensical "questions".
