I wouldn't need to at a friend's home because if they're my friend, I would pretty much know what they had, & if I needed something I could just ask. If it was someone I didn't know well, I would feel pretty creepy rummaging through their personal items. But- that is the person I am now. When I was much younger and not as nice/ethical, I would go through medicine cabinets at parties where I didn't know the host that well, looking for drugs or cool makeup to "liberate". Don't think I ever did just out of idle curiosity, though... but I'm sure some people do.

I try to respect my friends privacy, but I do know people will go out looking for ahouse to buy just so they can look for other peoples pills to pop or to sell. So if you every going to sell a house hide your medicine.
