Depends on where you go, the size of the tattoo, and the detail. If you figure out what you want get a picture of it and have someone at a tattoo shop look at it they can give you a general area of what it would cost.

It depends on the size of the tattoo and the skill of the tattoo artist. The extra $ is worth a good tattoo. My friends got the same tattoo, which they had drawn, done by different artists. One cost $50 and looked awful. The other paid $135, but it was perfect. Make sure you have seen some of their work.

Good tattoos are not cheap, and cheap tattoos are never good.
You get what you pay for.
Most artists charge by the hour, by the size, and also by the ink quality. Some colors are more expensive than others, as well.
Expect to pay at least $75, sometimes up to $400 for a peice. Larger peices can be in the thousands of dollars. You can take a sketch or printout of what you want in with you, or email it to the artist and they can give you an estimate.

My Tattoos cost from $40 (US) for a simple name, up to $200 for a large tat covering most of my upper arm and shoulder.

What will cost me so much more is when I pay $500 a trip for about 10 trips to the laser surgeon next week to burn them off.

The cost of tattoo's usually depends on the size, colour and wehter its a custom design or off the flash cards. It can also depend on the time and detail involved. the best idea is to either pick something you like and go to a reputable tattooist for a quote or go to a tattooist and look at their flash card designs for a price they are usually on the pictures.
