In medicine this is called an "FUO," fever of unknown origin. Might want to consult with an infectious disease (ID) specialist since they are the experts on fevers. Odd things like liver lesions can sometimes cause fevers and would not respond to antibiotics. I'd ask for consultation with an ID doc.

99 might be her normal temperature but fever isn't something to be feared anyway unless it get's to the danger level. Fever is actually the bodies response to kill unwanted germs. Giving too much tylenol and motrin on a low grade fever is actually not a good thing. Let the body do it's thing and watch it the temp. My doctor said not to give tylenol unless the the fever is 102. How does the child act? Does she act normal or lethargic. If she is acting normal and the Doctor suggests stopping meds then do.

I don't even know if they consider 99 a temp, but take her back to the doctor or emergency room. Labs give false results if you are taking antibiotics. At this point, they would probably want to do precautionary testings, such as spinal taps, etc. 28 days is too long. Good luck.

It is normal for a childs temp to go up in response to an infection. 99.4 is not a temp to treat. If it spikes again, above 101, then give her a dose of childrens tylenol. Her body is actively trying to fight off some type of infection at this point and trying to kill it off with massive doses of antibiotics is not good. Also, children tend to have higher body temps than adults, so 99.4 might not be high for her.

An antibiotic should kill a bacterial infection but not a viral. Are you giving her tylenol or another fever reducer? Since you have changed docs and there still isn't a change I would suggest the next step is the emergency room. Running fevers for a long period of time is not healthy for the body or brain.

You don't mention her other symptoms so it's hard to say. BUT some people naturally have a slightly higher normal body temperature. OR she could have inflammation somewhere in her body that the doctor's haven't discovered. How does she behave? Like she feels well or like she feels ill?

I could be possible that 99 is her normal temperature! I'm surprised the doctors haven't mentioned that. It looks like you and the doctors have done everything that can be done. Ask one of them if it could be possible that that is her normal temperature! It very well could be...good luck

This may be a drug induced fever. stopping all med simply can cure .if temp persists or on higher side, needs further investigation.
