When you sing you are supposed to sing from your diaphragm. When singing it is important to breath deeply and sing from your diaphragm than from your nose. If you sing from your nose you are limiting the strength of your voice. As a result, you have to breathe more than if you use the full lung capacity. You also sound nasily. If you put your hand around the stomach area, when you sing, you can tell if you sing from your diaphragm or not.
