Your body is mostly made of water, i believe about 75% is water weight. When you sweat, you lose that water and some weight. Steam rooms make you sweat, so that means you'd lose weight sitting in one. Wrestler's run around with sweatsuits on in hot weather so they sweat and lose weight. So yes, steam rooms do help you to lose weight. Usually depends on how long your in the steam room. Don't do it for long hours at a time, you might become dizzy and lightheaded, sort of like heat exhaustion.

A steam room will make you sweat and lose water from your body. You can weigh less after a time in a steam room, but it's only temporary. As soon as you drink water or some other liquid you will have the "weight" back again. It's not a quick way to permanently loose weight, just something for the moment and you'll leave thirsty!
