If you shave there, it's probably an abscess caused by ingrowing hair, your GP can confirm and treat this.

Everybody has something called lymph nodes. you find them all over the body but most noticably on the neck just under your jaw and also under your armpits.
These can become swollen due to tumor or infection.
I'm sure when you've been to the doctor that he has sometimes pressed at the sides of your neck; well, he is checking for swollen lymph nodes.
Maybe you have an infection or are recovering from one maybe?
There can be a million reasons for swollen lymph nodes and as always, a trip to the doctor is the best course of action.

The first thing I would ask is 'how long have they been there?' I have skin tags under my arms, which have been there for as long as I can remember.
I also find that when I get stressed, I occasionally get big whiteheads under my arms, which do clear up on their own. If in doubt, get to a GP and get it checked out. It could just be a cyst, but breast cancer can form under the armpit too, so it really would be wise to see a GP. Better safe than sorry.

It's either the way you're made and you only just noticed them... or, possible swollen glands, could be the start of glandular fever... you should go and get a check up if you have been feeling run down and lethargic.

Under both arms is unlikely to be cancerous... but maybe a check up would rule this out as well, and maybe if you stop feeling and prodding and worrying... they just might go down again on their own!

If they feel a little deep they are your lymph nodes. Are they painful? Your immune system would be fighting an invader in your system. If the lumps are just under the skin, they are embedded hairs. Caused by shaving under your arms usually.

Erm... lumps under the armpits are among the symptoms for some serious things (like breast cancer - not to alarm you unduly, but so they are). I hope that is not the case with you, but go to your doctor for a check-up, just in case.

Sounds like swollen glands to me. You're probably just fighting off an infection. Its usually the ones in my throat that get really big but sometimes the ones in my armpits do too. I shouldn't worry but if they don't go down seek advice.

I get them if I drink too much caffeine. Ask your Doctor if they don't go away soon. My mother had biopsy after biopsy on these types of lumps and they were always because of caffeine. Have them checked out for sure by your Doctor.

Well, avoiding the obvious jokes about bubonic plague, its likely that they are just ordinary glands that for some reason have become inflamed. If they do not return to normal quickly, it would be wise to have your doctor see them, the lymph nodes can be tricky if you are in generally bad health.

Probably swollen lymph nodes due to fluid retention. Best to go and see the doctor anyway to rule out anything more serious.
