If it bounces back on to the field of play, then the ball is still in play. Of course if it went into the stands off of the pole, it is a ground rule double.

Usually, but not always, if the ball lands in the field, it's still in play. However, each team gets to set its ground rules for its own stadium (thus came the term "ground rule double"). So, not all stadiums count the foul pole as "in play." For example, certain foul poles in Baltimore and Boston are considered out of play, so if you hit one on a bounce, you still stop at second, even if the ball bounces back onto the field. (If the ball ends up in the stands, it's always a double.) Official ground rules can be found below.

Ground rule double. Any ball that hits within the field of play, then bounces out of play is two bases.
Now if whatever the ball hits is declared IN play at the pre-game conference, then the ball is live and play continues. Foul poles are always out of play, however

The foul pole being hit in the air by a ball is a home run, but if it hits the ground and then hits the pole, it's a ground rule double. The ball left the field of play.

If the bounding ball hits the "yellow" part of the foul pole, then it's a ground rule double. The yellow markings on the pole indicate "out of play," so by rule it becomes a dead ball and the batter is rewarded two bases. If the ball hits the pole on, say, a black area, then it could be a live ball depending on the park's "ground rules" as referenced by another answer above.

My best guess is it would be a ground rule double.
Does the ball bounce into the stands or back on the field after it hits the foul pole?

i've never seen it happen but it would be a ground rule double bc the if a ball hits a foul pole in the air then its a homerun but regardless if the ball lands in play fair and then bounces over the fence anywhere its still a ground rule double

The ball is still in play unless it was touched by a fan or unless there was a rule in that particular ball park that said when a ground ball hit hit the foul pole it is a ground rule double.

if it bounces in the stands it is a ground rule double. As long as it hits the ground before it goes past the foul line it is a fair ball.

if the ball is still on the playing field it's still fair. once the ball leaves the playing field it is a ground rule double (or whatever the ground rule for that is in the staduim)
