I heard that depending on the sales of PS2 games the next few years will affect if Sony wish to have PS2 games continued to be produced for the PS2 in the future, is this true.
I don't want to have to fork out for the new PS3 as I think there is nothing wrong with the PS2, anyone else agree?

First ive heard and Im quite upto date.
Eventually PS2 game production will cease just as it has with the PS1 but there will still be games for a few years yet. Besides, its not sonys decision, its down to the games companys.
They cant make games for a console forever. The dreamcast, NES, N65 have all ended.
thomas, no, you cant play PS3 games on a PS2. The same way you cant play PS2 games on a PS1. The PS2 isnt powerful enough and lacks the other hardware required to run PS3 games. If that was the case why would we buy a PS3 at all.

I dont think there is anything wrong with it. That little line about not producing games is a sham though. They will drop it in a heart beat when the ps3 comes out. They just don't want folks dropping it now for the already out xbox360. Once the ps3 is out there will be very few games for the ps2.
I still wish Tobal 2 would come out for it. Maybe some compnay could bring out unreleased games but I doubt that would ever happen.
Save your cash and get a xbox or a Wii.
