Favorites:
70s punk (NOT recent)- love the in-your-face, doesn't-give-a-s*** style. Definitely my all time favorite genre.
Classic rock (is there a style?), a little bit of grunge (the style... well, I don't care either way, actually) and metal (like SOME OF the music, not too big on the style)
WORST:
EMO (blegh)- Ok, so I don't mind if every so often an artist comes up with a song that's sad- you know, about how their girlfriend left them, yadda yadda yadda. If it's what they actually feel- fine. But take that, add in a whole bunch of artificial emotions (I get that life sucks sometimes, but I find it hard to believe that they all are that depressed), multiply it by ten and turn it into a musical genre, and you get emo. As to the style... well, it doesn't bother me quite as much. The hair is a bit irritating though...
Rap- ok, so I can respect the reason rap started, as it is actually kind of similar to the reason punk started- it originated in the lower class, and gave them a way to express anger or disappointment in society, and that's good. Now though, it seems to be a lot of violent and degrading monotony. I don't mind the violent bit so much as the degrading to women bit. So, while it's possible I could stand, or even enjoy, older rap, if I heard it, the modern stuff pisses me off.
Most modern "punk"- It's kinda similar to the rap thing. Except instead of monotony about violence and women, it's monotony about feeling like an outsider, and being the only original person left in the entirety of the human race, with a generally uninformed political song thrown in every now and then for good measure. The style is kind of remniscent of old punk style, but now, instead of being a way to stand out and show who you are, it's become a uniform, and a way to fit into a clear cut stereotype.
Country- Uh... I just don't like it. And I don't really care for the style. I don't care if my friends like it, or decide to show up in cowboy boots and a mullet, but I personally don't like it.

The worse genre is a genre of music you may not have heard about. It's called Rhythm (sp) Noise. It's closest to techno/EBM BUT there are never words just really bad computer noises; glitches and clanks. The funny thing is that rarely is there a consist rhythm for these things. I've heard about two songs in this genre with a consistent rhythm and only one of them was half-way likeable.
Country gets my second vote. And it gets my worse fashion vote. Remember Country spawned Mullets. That's all I'm going to say about that.
I'm not feeling the sagging jeans in hip-hop but no genre's style bothers me. Emo is a little pretentious though. As long as grunge fans take a shower before they slip into those flannel shirts I could care less.
My fav. genre of music is punk, industrial and goth. I dress more like a hybrid of goth and punk but I could careless if people like my style or not.

I enjoy listening to Alternative.
My least favorite is Rap. Country comes in a close second, but rap definitely takes the cake for worst music genre.

no offence but, this is a stupid question.....music is subjective some people like hip hop some don't and that goes for all music. Genre's of music all sound the same thats why they are in a GENRE!!!!
all rock and hip hop sounds alike??
well so does country AND techno AND rock AND all other music that's in a genre.

Pop, Rock, R&B, Hip Hop, Ballad Scorpio solar / Libra Moon / Scorpio Asc / Scorpio Venus BQ: yeah i do imagine so because your body of ideas shows what variety of song form you'll like~~~ i mean, if i'm a romantic human being that is like weird and wonderful i ought to hearken to punk songs proper? (even if the punk music ought to consist love lyrics in spite of the undeniable fact that the beat and song i mean... it would not fit the texture)

Worst by far is rap (should have an initial "C"), but hip hop, blue grass and gospel make me ill too. I like classical, e.g. Bach, Mozart and Tchaikovsky. My lovers are Chiese and Japanese, and I like some music from their countries, as well as ragas from India.

Rap is deffinately the worst in my book....same old beat over and over...just different words which are usually bias against race and or women. I like all different types of music for either their lyrics or sound. like Led Zepplin in the 70's & 80's...old 50's 60's..the old motown sound was awsome...I also like blues...and jazz.....that's what real music is and they all had real talent then....rappers have no real talent...heck..anyone can rhyme..
