Depends on what you use your computer for and how rich you are!
Mac is generally a more solid and stable operating system, especially for music, video and photography work.
Mac programmers are required to "clear the handles" when you finish with an item like a picture.
Windows doesn't really allow for this or they don't stress it. Instead it uses what is called an automatic garbage collection system in which sometime (this Century, it is hoped) the Operating System will look for dead file fragements and clear them out of memory.
What happens here, is if you work with say, 120 still pictures in Photo Shop you sytem starts running low on resources and crashes. That never happens with a Mac.
Now for the downside!
Mac hardware and programs are expensive!
You really can't find $50 or $100 programs for Mac, because only 10% of the users of computers are Mac people while 85% are PC people.
You almost can't find any Mac shareware.
You can't really find a new Mac for much under $1,000
If you want a Mac to do video or music you need to spend $1,500+ while you can basically do this on a $500 PC.
Macs automatically see hardware, even from other companies and start workign with it. PCs try to but don't always and more often then not you have to install drivers and sometimes even tweek them.
Macs see video cameras with easy via FireWire, with a PC it's a hit or miss thing and then you have to go to user groups and tweek the driver.
PCs are best for games and gaming. More games are avaialble for the PC.
PCs are best for the user on a budget as you can buy things like Video editing or Audio recording software for $100 or less.
There is a big selection of free or trial software for the PC but not much for the Mac.
PCs are cheaper, starting at $400 for a box and $600 for a system.
Macs are closer to $1000 for just the box.
If you are a casual user, the PC is the best value with the most software.
If you are looking for reliablity and intend to do professional work, the Mac is probably the best choice.
Linux is a wanna be that never was exect on the Internet. Most servers are Linux based. Probably makes for a good network server.

The mac users will love you as will the Linux users. MS has a new version Windows Vista coming out in January 2007 that is supposed to fix the security problems and make it better for businesses.

Because mac computers runs windows natively (because they have intel processors now). And both systems are getting almost similar in functionnalities and even looks pretty much the same.

(No unfriendly remarks plz - i'm just askin' to make a point.)

depends on what you are going to use it for, Mac is known for its uses in graphics design. However Mac software is very expensive, much more than the windows versions
I am in Graphics design and use a Windows platform with no problems
If you want the best for security go with linux

Mac is good at user interface.
Windows is good at marketing.
If you feel that you are a special person, go for Mac.
If you feel that you are one of the masses, go for Windows.
BTW: I am using Windows, like everyone at the office.
