it is advisable to wear not only cotton clothes but also light-coloured clothes. Reason being cotton absorbs the sweat and as it is lighter than other clothes it allows air to pass thru providing a cool sensation. Light colours help in reflecting the heat unlike dark coloured clothes.

Cotton light material that is loosely woven so there are naturally "pores" in your clothing to allow body heat out and cool breeze in. Clothes like polyester and leather don't 'breathe' as well as cotton due to the denisty of the material used. Just look at a cotton ball compared to your dogs fur coat - which would you rather wear when its hot ? (not trying to be morbid with the dog thing...)

Cotton is a natural fiber and is light-weight, and breathes to allow body heat to be radiated out, and keep a person at a cooler temperature. It can absorb sweat from the body, which then migrates to the surface where air circulation can evaporate it away from the body.

Cotton allows your skin access to air, but not as much as if you were to go naked. If you go naked your skingets better access to both air and sun. That is what I would suggest if not for the fact that a bunch of religious puritans would throw you in jail.

well, because cotton allows the skin to breathe. if you look closely on the fabric you could see tiny "holes" in it. plus, cotton absorbs sweat well, so it is the recommended fabric during summer.

Cotton is one of the 'natural fabrics' that 'breathes'. It helps keep the hot sitckies away from your skin.

Silk clothing is also very comfortable in this sweltering weather.

Try to keep cool.
