In my opinion, it's a toss up between The Young and the Restless and As the World Turns -- for different reasons.
The Y&R is excellent because the writers give most of the characters layers and faults. They write for them really well and for the most part they stay true to character.
ATWT is excellent for its casting. So many wonderful actors like Meg Ryan and Parker Posie got their acting start there. Right now, keep your eyes on Jennifer Landon. She's an amazing actress with a really bright future.
