what makes some girls get an abortion? I'm not talking about rape or incest, but if a girl made a mistake and got pregnant, what is her reasoning for getting an abortion? It is not just the "mans" fault or the "mans" resposibility to wear a condom. Is it because the child might be an inconvenience, a financial strain, or affect their carreer. What about disabled people and the elderly, they can become an inconvenience, financial strain and carreer affecting too, so are the families justified in saying, well we can't take care of them so we're gonna take em down to the clinic so they can get rid of em?

First of all I am Pro - Choice and yes children are a burden and yes so are the elderly

I would much rather the crack whore on the streets get an abortion as opposed to having to pay her for having a child.

Same as all these teenage girls who think there grown.

The world is over populated right now and because America has brought it on ourselves everyone is going out and having sex.

If you want less abortions stop supporting all those sexy looking clothes in public. and take a stand about what 10 and 11 year olds are wearing.

If you start to change how things are then you can be judgmental about why girls get abortions but until you offer a better choice where they don't have to worry for the rest of there lives that there child is out there being molested and beaten because they gave them up.

There's alot of different factors that contribute to women having abortions.

I recommend you go volunteer your time at a local abortion clinic so you can see all of those woman's stories.

well those girls that don't use protection like a condom or that are on the pill obviously don't care about there own well-being and the consequences of having unprotected sex, like an unwanted pregnancy or s.t.i's.
if some how i managed to get pregnant, which is unlikely as on pill and use protection, i would abort it. this is only because I'm only 18 and enjoy my life way to much at the moment to give it all up and change everything. having a child of my own would mean me giving up nearly everything like college and going out with friends.
the girls that get pregnant at a young age wont have all the experiences that everyone else did while they (hopefully) were at home looking after a child and putting someones needs in front of themselves and at that age it's very hard that's why some of those girls mite start to resent the child and maybe not care for the child as much as they could because the feel like its the child's fault they missed out.

Basically is all comes down to life chances.

Sure they should have and could have been more careful in their choices but they weren't. What will a baby do to increase or decrease life chances which include (just to name a few):
The ability to finish school or seek higher education
The ability to travel
The ability to find a mate (if the father does not stick around)
The ability to make the kind of money they want
The ability to handle the stress
The ability to have or continue family ties
The assurance that all parties involved will be adequaltey able to care for a child for 18+years.

The list can go on and on.

If things are not looking to good for them and their future then they may choose to abort. Sure it sucks but thats the reality.

I did not always feel this way but when I went to college to study Sociology my views changed a little.

Hope this helps

B

The elderly are conscious, thinking individuals. A fetus is a mass of cells that has the potential to maybe become a human being. They are not even in the same realm of thought or consideration. A woman who has an abortion after careful consideration of her ability to properly raise and nurture a child is probably making a responsible decision. We need another neglected unwanted child like we need a hole in our head.

I will start out saying I don't know yet what I believe as far as abortion goes.

I was laughing though because it popped into my head that all anti-abortionist arguments are "Life is sacred" and stuff like that yet I have never Seen or heard any president or anyone say we should outlaw sending soliders to war and make a ammendment preventing war. If life is sacred we should not be sacrificing any lives but it seems it is OK to kill and have soldiers kill but not OK for anyone else.

I do not meant this as anti pro-life but was just struck with comedy of society's hypocrisy with pro-life while we have death penalty and war

I think you answered you own question - the vast majority of abortions have nothing to do with rape, incest or health problems, the women simply decide that they are justified in killing their baby because it's an inconvenience. Pretty sad, isn't it.

This is a race question. White girls get the abortion. Black girls have the baby and go on the "Maury" Show to test 60 guys to find the ba'bee daddie. If you lay down with the guy it is your fault. He asked you and "YOU" did it. If he forced you it would be rape. Because of this - abort or support your own d--n ba'bee.

I believe a girl who gets pregnant, and wants to abort, is the meaning of someone who is nt prepared to have kids, or is afraid of what might happen with her family, money issues, father issues, ( if he will be around or not ) its like so much drama. And in reality its not the mans responsibility its to wear a condom, its both parties cuz it takes two not one. to make a baby , so the female should try to push it to also ask the male to wear a condom.

People who support abortion don't think the killing of a fetus is the same as killing a person who is already born. I personally and pro-life and so is my wife. I agree that the woman is just as much at fault for creating an unwanted baby. I think if the term pro-choice were changed to pro-abortion alot of people would switch to pro-life.

Edit* I had to add one thing. Some people think you shouldn't tell other people what to do with their boddies. I agree Make all drugs legal. Don't tell me what to do with my body! I'll shoot as much heroine as I want. Wait whats that none of you hippies are going to lobby congress to make all drugs legal for me? That is hypocrisy.

It would be less of an issue if there were an exact point at which a "soul enters the fetus". Since we don't have any quantifiable way of knowing when a fetus becomes a human we are left with the is-it-a-fetus or is-it-a-person question. It's psychologically easier to kill something souless.
