You need to consentrate on feeling good about your self....so instead of feeling conscious, you have to learn to feel confident...I had this same problem to where i was killing myself inside, untill i had to learn how to be confident with me and happy with myself...now as far as looking one in there eye, i had to learn that in a early stage was thats how you showed a sign of respect....Good luck!

Being self concious is common, it is a fear of judgement of others. It can be overcome. Read some self help books. 'You can heal your life' Loise Hay is one recommended by counselors. Affirmations may sound strange to you, but get used to using affirmations to tell yourself you are ok the way you are, it is ok to make mistakes, you can handle any situation that comes your way, feel the fear and do it anyway. Couseling will help you get to the root of your self conciousness by figuring out what connections you made in childhood that caused your thought process to doubt yourself. Just small changes like using the affirmations before you talk to someone can make big differences. Make up some of your own affirmations or just go online and search for affirmations that apply to your situation. Try it.

IMO, you care to much about what other people think about you. You have it in your head that this matters. The mind controls the body, so how you think will determine how you act. You need to have faith in yourself. If someone asks you a question that you know nothing about, say sorry but I do not know enough about that to comment. This is integrity, honesty, and it will get you far in life. Not that integrity will make you rich but it will help you find yourself and the people you want to be around. Good luck to you, I hope this helps.

DECIDE NOT TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE NOR ANYTHING ABOUT YOURSELF....JUST ENJOY WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO OFFER AND SAY YOU DO YOUR BEST GROOMING AND DRESSING WISE....THEN FORGET IT FOR THE DAY....BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS SOO INVOLVED IN HOW THEY LOOK THAT THEY CANT REMEMBER WHAT YOU EVEN WORE..... GO OUT SOME DAY WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING EXCEPT BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND COMB YOUR HAIR.....SEE IF THE DAY WENT ANY DIFFERENTLY OK

jus remember that most people will be thinkin more bout themselves and how they look to even care bout how u look, so it doesnt matter, most will be concentratin more on ur personality anyways to care bout ur looks... so showin that u dunt focus on ur looks so much is a turn on... playin sports will also help boost ur confidence looks-wise...

Sounds like you are insecure.
Maybe counseling would help.
