He's been using a bowl since I got him last month & he was using a bowl in the pet store. My other Hamster was the same but started to use the bottle almost straight away when I put it in the cage.
I was just wondering what to do, he keeps messing up his water bowl, so I think a bottle would be best. but I don't want to give him the bottle, he doesn't know how to use it & then ends up going without water.
Do you think he'll just get used to it like my other one did?

he might not know now but he will chetch up fast.when you remove the water dish and put the bottle on the side of the cage skwirt a little out and try to show him or her were the water is. - water bottles drip so he will soon figure out that this is now his or her water source no matter what.also if the hamster had a water bottle were he or her is originally from he sould know what the water bottle is and does.

I had 2 hamsters but they are dead, but what you have to do is show him how to use the bottle, and take bowl out of the cage, may be if you do that he's gonna get use to it.

If he doesnt take to the water bottle right away give him a dish of water too.Hamsters and rabbits have the instinct to use a water bottle so dont worry.

yes. he'll find it and use it no matter where it is as long as he can reach it. put it so he has to stand, but not on tippy toes! :) also it's much safer & cleaner than a bowl. u should never use a bowl. my bf thought the same about our new girl but she found it in a short time. enjoy him! i love mine!

yes usually they will. Even if he just starts to chew the nozzle to see what it is he'll find out that there is water in it.
