Yes, because it's usually not about sex, it's about domination.

If you've heard of a non-violent case of rape, I haven't. The nature of rape is that it depicts violence, as it is an act done to a person without their consent. If it was consensual, it wouldn't be rape. Consent is a matter of law, and is the key issue.

I do not think that rape is exclusively in the female realm of violence, as men can be raped too.

Where were you going with this Q? anyway? Seems weird....rape with no aspect of violence towards the victim, what next? Murder without killing? May I suggest consulting some Women's Studies journal publications instead of confounding us all?

Rape is a violent act against women, and/or men. The rapist is disregarding the rights of the victim, and performs an act of power over the other. In many cases, rapists were themselves abused as children and continue to "act out" on others. This is a crime and laws have been put in place to stop these violent offenders. There is help available for sex offenders, as well as for their victims.

i agree it is a violent act against anyone whether it be a child , man or women, it is a violation of ones body and mind as well as their right to say NO.most often someone who rapes will move on to do bigger tasks such as murder or mutilation because they no longer get the rush from raping someone . its like a drug user. they all start off small but soon its not enuff fire to feed the dragon so they move on to much worse things to fill their needs.
i believe their should be stronger penelties for rapists im not a strong believer in the death penelty but if u rob a child of his/her inoccence then i believe they should pay with their life .. after all u have dammaged this child's life

Yes, Men who have to rape a women, are scum.
You have a stranger/or someone you know deciding to just have sex with you because they want to. It causes unforgetable memories that you have to live with for the rest of your life. It is something that changes you from the minute it starts until death.

Yes, as pointed out many many times, rape is about power over a person, not the sex.

Yes definitely. Every person should have power and authority over their own body/mind. When a person is raped that power is forcefully taken away from them. Once it has been taken it is very hard for that person to get back.

It is violence of course. What are you thinking about? It is a power struggle too. It is done by psychotic personalities. It cannot just be classified as only against women, what about abuse of children?

Rape isn't about violence against women, its about domination and imposing one's will and sexual desires on someone else, who doesn't give their consent. It doesn't neccessarily have to be a woman as the victim of this disgusting, hate-filled crime, yet most times it is that way.

Yes, i think it is pretty obvious.

I think it has different causes, but most of it is anger towards
women, or revenge.

In the United states, pornography has been linked to rape
over and over. Studies show that after exposing men to
as little as three hours of pornography, decreases their
respect for women, makes them think less of them as
people, and increases their want for violent sex.
It is dangerous stuff.

it is a violent act

it doesnt even quantify to a sexual experience.

it is a violent act where the perpetrator uses his physical strength and ability to penetrate without consent in order to over power, hurt and mentally scar a woman.

this scenario does not just contain aspects of violence...... it is a violent act.
