ACCTUALLY, YOU WILL HAVE 2 DISSCUSS

MY OPINION IS YOU CAN'T COMPARE
THEM BOTH,BUT PUT THEM TOGETHER
YOU GOT 2 ATLEAST WORLD CLASS PLAYERS.
YOU CAN'T COMPARE THEM BECAUSE THEY
APPEARED AT DIFFRENT TIMES.
HE IS A FANTASTIC EXAMPLE 4 YOUNGSTERS
LIKE MYSELF.
MARADONNA IS LIKE THE SAME
WHEN HE PLAYED HE WAS ON TOP
OF THE WORLD,BUT HE HAD PROPS
WITH DRUGS AND ALCOHOL.
PELE IS A ANBITION 2 YOUNGSTERS AND
MARADONNA BETTER AS A PLAYER.

Maradona, he is the greatest player of all time without any doubt.
Simply because he had the talent to score and make goals unlike Pele who was mainly a striker.
One important factor that must also be taken into consideration is that football during Pele's time was under developed, meaning tactics were not as sophisticated, defense was not as intense etc, so Pele had an easy time scoring goals. If he had been playing in the 80's & 90's he would have had a hard time achieve what he had achieved in his time.

This is very difficult question, which made a lot of discussion every time when it was mentioned. My opinion is, that you can not compere them, because they played in different time. For me Pele is a person, which is a true ambassador for soccer. He lives like a sportsman should without black spots on his career, definitely an idol for youngsters. Maradona on the other hand was definitely during his career out of league, the best man on the field, but his problems with drugs, alcohol, all the scandals, they just too much for a guy, who should be an idol for younger generation. So, too come to the end, Pele is better idol, Maradona was better player ;-)

Both players were brilliant in their careers but Pele's character and passion for the sport is second to none!!!

Pele, the legendary Brazilian who helped BRAZIL to win the Jules Rimet trophy in 1958, 1962 & 1970. he retired from football with more than 1,000 goals to his name with glory while Diego Armando Maradona was forced to retire prematurely due to his drug addiction!!
